102 (Dyce) Squadron is the oldest Air Cadet unit in the North East of Scotland.

It first opened as 102(Aberdeen Airport) Squadron of the Air Defence Cadet Corps (ADCC) in 1939. The squadron's Air Defence Cadet Corps banner still hangs in the squadron headquarters today.

In February 1941, all 200 ADCC squadrons transferred to a new organisation - the Air Training Corps.

With the RAF taking over Aberdeen Airport as RAF Dyce, the squadron gained a new title - 102(Dyce) squadron - which it holds to this day.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary, the squadron moved from its home at RAF Dyce to a purpose built headquarters building in Northfield. 147 cadets paraded for the official opening ceremony on 25th June 1960.
