What sets the Air Cadets aside from any other youth organisation ??

Our own fleet of gliders and powered aircraft - dedicated to giving cadets practical experience of flight, with the opportunity to gain your own glider or powered pilots licence !!

Powered Flying

Grob Tutor  
The Grob Tutor - entered service with the Air Cadets during 2001.

Air Experience flying is available to all cadets on gaining their First Class Certificate, with the opportunity to apply for a Flying Scholarship open to older cadets (this provides free flying lessons up to solo standard)

Our local Air Experience Flight (No12 AEF) is based at RAF Leuchars, and we fly in the Grob Tutor there.

Gliding

Air Experience gliding is also available to all cadets, again for older cadets, there are a series of courses available  leading up to gaining a gliders pilots license.

Our local Voluntary Gliding Schools are based at RAF Kinloss on the Moray coast (No 663 VGS - flying VIgilant gliders) and at RN Condor near Arbroath (No 662 VGS - flying Viking gliders)
