1998
The 1998 emlyn was held at Lyons Copse camp site. It was the usual thing - weekend camp from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. This weekend was probably the wetest one of the year and the field had flooded by the time we went to strike camp. Our stuff was floating!!! Luckly we still won the composite patrol section. The project for this year was to build a shower. I had planned the shower out well in advance and even took a set of ladders, as it was going to be so big. The shower came out amazingly and when it was tested out by a willing patrol member steam oozed out all over the field (as it was so cold). The judges loved it so much we won the project section as well!!!
Some captures of the site and weather:

Knives; Sheath knives are not permiffed on this camp. If a knife is required, they must be a clasp knife.
The entry fee is £6.00 per Scout.
Our group (7th Eastleigh) were unfortunatly unable to participate in the emlyn as our Patrol leaders were tied up in school exams.
Luckily I had the privelidge of being invited to be a judge, as I had participated in the event and won over the past 3 years. This was a great experience and I enjoyed it as much as if I had a patrol, and hope I can do it again next year. My jobs ranged from testing food to checking tentage. This emlyn was held at Marwell Activity Centre, and if you were quite you could here the elephants making strange noises!!!
