The Great Central Railway
and Migration from Europe to North America (II)

If you've reached this page, then I guess that you've seen the information that I have presented on the first page about this subject. This page is for the continuation. I decided to split the information over two pages so that I could include more without making the first page take too long to download because of all the images.

Here are more images presented in a similar fashion to those on the first page. In each case, click on the small picture to see a larger version, which naturally will take a while to download. Each of the large images is about 750 pixels along the short edge, so it's best to view them in 800x600 mode if you can.

The first column includes extra details about shipping services from the mainland of Europe (generally described as "the Continent") to the ports operated by the Great Central Railway in England. A couple of these pages include information about services operated by companies which were independent from the Great Central Railway.

The second column includes the details of train services operated from the East Coast ports along the Great Central Railway's main line to Manchester, with connections on to Liverpool. The point of these pages is to help those interested in researching into the details of the journey made by people en route from Europe to America, and hence, it's only in that direction.

A note about copyright: It's my understanding that because the material presented here dates from 1903, it is out of copyright - certainly, as the timetable I have is a facsimile reprint, it seems I'm not the only person to think so.
