Single of the Week

"In Your Car" by Kenickie

Consistently brilliant, Kenickie are shaping up to be one of those infamous "best new bands in Britain" you keep hearing about. Brash, intelligent, loud, funny and vital, the three girl and one boy band have loosed another impressive missile of a single with "In Your Car".

Great big punk(a) riffs and thundering drums - a la Ash - punctuate a rocking song with blistering vocals. Plus the chorus consists of loud "yeah yeah yeah"'s and is therefore wonderful.

B-side "Can I Take U 2 The Cinema" is a one-minute wonder of thrash, whilst "I'm An Agent" is a new-wave Numan-ish track. Both impressive.

Currently a fab singles band, I await Kenickie's LP with interest...
