| Notes for Baroness Raymonde Olga Vierre Alexandrovna De Baudelot Pierroff |
|
Baroness Raymonde Olga Vierre De Baudelot Pierroff Born 6th
January 1903 The Daughter Of Princess Elizabeth And General
Baudelot
She Married Harold Lyle Batty-Smith In London 27 Jul 1927 Her Mother, Princess Elizabeth As She Was Known, Was Said To Be An Illegitimate Child, And Raymonde Said That Her Grandmother Was Marie Alexandrovna. She Mentioned Being A Cousin Of Princess Marina Of Greece, Whom She Modelled With For The Likes Of Vogue Magazine In The 1920's, And That Her Godmother Was Queen Alexandra. Princess Elizabeth And General De Baudelot Lived In One Of The Palace's In St. Petersburg, Russia, Close To The Tzars' Palace. They Spent Winters In Georgia, Moving All Their Belongings With Them By Train. There Is Also Suggestion That She Had A Sister (Margaret?) Who Later Lived In Spain, And A Twin Brother Who Escaped The Revolution And Lived In South America Before Returning To Russia Later. Raymonde Escaped The Revolution By Going To Siberia, Then On To Harbin In China, And Eventually To Letouche In France Where Her Father Had A Property. This Property Was In Use As A Hospital At The Time And This Is Where She Met Her Future Husband Harold. In 1917 Both Of Her Parents Were Murdered During The Revolution. The Name Baudelot (Also Spelt Bodelot/Bodelo) Is Of French Origin And It Is Believed That The Family Moved From France To Russia At The Outbreak Of The French Revolution.
