Detail from the Ramsey Psalter

Ramsey Abbey School is on the site of what was one of the most important Benedictine Abbeys of the Middle Ages.   The school is planning to build a much needed extension, but before the building can start, an archaeological dig must take place to discover what lies beneath the soil.   Staff and pupils at the school have put together the following information to explain to the local community, and to the wider world, what we know already about the Abbey, and how the archaeological dig is helping us to understand more about its history.  We will add more information as the dig progresses, so please visit us again!
