Miniature railway, usually operated by an ALCO outline diesel.

 

Pentney Park

 

Off the A47, between King's Lynn and Swaffham

This railway runs round the perimeter of the caravan site and operates during the summer season.

 

Pleasurewood Hills Railways

 

The American theme park contains two miniature railways - both of which are built to American outline. There are also a Ruston 0-4-0 DM and two Mk1 coaches at this site in static use as a restaurant.

 

Strumpshaw Steam Museum, near Norwich

 

A miniature (narrow gauge) railway operates at this site using a Simplex steam outline locomotive. Also on display is a rare example of a 1960s Triang garden ride-on railway.

 

Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, Reedham

 

Pettitts operate a 500 yard miniature railway using a home-built steam outline diesel hydraulic.

 

Somerleyton Hall Miniature Railway

 

This line is a 450 yard continuous loop and features one steam locomotive and two diesels.

 

Hunstanton Pier Railway

 

 

Few details remain of this railway - and even the pier is now history! The postcard picture shows Basset-Lowke 4-4-0 "Maid Marion" heading away from shore.
