Most found in long grass but some can be found in hedges. Most likely to be found in summer and early autumn.

Parts of a Cricket

Wings.
Most crickets have wings. Black lines run up and down its wings called veins.
Legs.
The cricket has six legs. Its back legs are packed full of muscles for it to jump even better.
Antennae
Antennae are can be short or long that how they find their way.
Ears
Crickets have holes on the side of their front legs. They are ears.
Eyes
Cricket's eyes are compound eyes. That means they have lots of little eyes.
Through the Year

They lay their eggs in summer and most adults die in autumn. The eggs hatch in spring and nymphs come out. They shed their skin many times before adulthood.
