Ladybirds Through the Year.

Ladybirds mate in the spring and the summer. After mating a female lays her eggs.It takes her two days to lay them all, because one female can up to one hundred and twenty five eggs. After a few days the eggs hatch if it was a cold day it would take up to seven days to hatch. Young ladybirds are called larva. The first thing they eat is their own egg shell.
Then they start to eat living aphids, but if they find another larvae. It eats until its skin splits, underneath is a new skin which is damp, soft skin. After this it changes into a pupa.Inside is a ladybird growing into an adult ladybird! After the a few weeks the pupa cracks. After this it comes out but isn't red and it doesn't have any spots! About five mintes later it turns red (if it is an red one,) and its spots start to appear. Before winter all the old ladybirds die! In spring ladybirds wake up from hibernation.
