Moth When and Where Found
Moths are found on nettles, honeysuckles and on lilac. Moths hide themselves by closing their wings to pretend they are rotten old leaves.

Parts of the Moth

A moth has usually brown or grey scaly skin. A moth has four legs and two antennae. Moths have different colours of scaly skin. Most moths fly at night.
Wings
Moths have stong wings. Moths haven't got much colour on them, their wings are mostly brown, green, yellow, grey and white.
Legs
Moths have round about 4 to 6 legs in total. Moths have small thin, black little hairy legs.

Through the Year

During the summer they feed on nectar, on winter they hibernate. In spring when the weather gets warm the butterfly comes from its bed and it starts to feed.

An egg grows into a caterpillar

This becomes a pupa and out of the pupa comes a butterfly
