You can find snails in compost and on leaves. The best time is in summer and autumn particularly in puddles.

Parts of a Snail

Mouth
A snail has a transparent surface and it also has two antennae to help them get around. The snail is a tasty meal to a lot of other animals. The coil is to protect it because it's hard. The snail has a small mouth because it has a special tongue covered with hundreds of tiny teeth as the snail eats its tongue its tongue goes back and forth across the food scraping off small pieces.
