You can find worms under stones, pieces of wood, in damp grass or in loose earth. You would find worms in spring, summer and autumn. You would find them early in the morning and late at night.

When and Where Found
Skin.
The worm breathes through its skin. You have to keep your worm in damp places it can breathe through dry skin.
About one third down the worm's body it has a thick bit called the saddle but it only has a saddle if it is an adult.
In winter, worms burrow deep into the ground to escape the frost. In the spring, when the weather gets better they come out of their burrows at night, and early in the morning when there is dew on the ground. They usually leave their tail ends inside their burrows, so they can get back in the burrow quickly if they need to.
