Facilities

The College has extensive playing-fields, tennis courts and sports hall. The latter covers 544 sq metres and offers four badminton courts, five-aside soccer, volleyball, basketball, netball, indoor hockey, tennis and cricket nets.

All pupils are expected to participate in physical education and games. Boys play rugby, soccer, cricket and tennis; girls play hockey, netball, tennis and rounders. Athletics is a major summer sport for boys and girls and all sports provide full fixture lists for the various College teams.

The local swimming pool is reserved each week for swimming sessions with the First Year under the supervision of a fully-qualified instructor.

The College competes in both Regional and National Independent Schools sports events, and has enjoyed great success in both athletics and swimming. Pupils are regularly sent for trials for Chester and District and County teams. The College has had pupils selected to represent Cheshire in hockey, cricket, rugby and most recently soccer, reaching the final selection for England schoolboys.

A new facility for tennis, and also hockey and five-a-side football has recently been constructed at the top of the playing field area to add to the P.E. Departments facilities.

South Africa Tour Summer 2004

The P.E. department are taking a combined hockey and football tour to South Africa during the Summer holidays 2004.  The trip is designed for the current third, fourth and fifth form pupils and is obviously a massive venture for the department.  We are keen to make the experience as valuable and full as possible, to include four matches over a two week period with plenty of opportunity to see South Africa and relish the trip to the full.  Visits to Sun City, Pretoria, Ledisi Cultural Village, Pilanesburg Game Reserve, Table Top Mountain, Cape Town. . . . . . . the list continues!  The tour promises to be a trip of a lifetime for the pupils; we are now working towards fund raising and sponsorship to ensure our tour holds lasting happy memories and lots of smiles on faces.
