First things first.

I am not an expert at 3D Canvas or an expert anything else for that matter (although I do make a very good cup of tea).

I am not an artist, contrary to what people might see on a Saturday night ;)

I have never driven a taxi in London.

I downloaded the free ware version 3D Canvas (3dc) at the end of 2001 to try to make some models for a game that I am writing in Blitz Basic, a game that will probably never be finished. Within a few days I upgraded to the LP version and, after discovering ray tracing (povray) I upgraded again to the pro version in January 2002. Basically what I am saying is, "I am new at this ! There are probably better ways of doing this - but hey, we all have to start somewhere."

I am not connected to Amabilis in any way
- although I do think 3d Canvas is very good.

Most of the ramblings on this page are my own.

If you follow this tutorial you do so at your own risk.
I will accept no responsibility if your machine crashes,
your fingers go in to spasm, alien invasion, divorce,
viruses, acid flashbacks, eye strain, nothing !
I am not responsible - ask my wife !

System Info and Options

I run 3dc on a generic Athlon 900Mhz with 320meg of ram and a 70gig hard drive.

3dv version 5.5a pro.

Windows XP home

In the 3dc options I have the "Object Snap-To Interval" and "Point Snap-To Interval" both set at 0.1.

I work with "snap to grid" mainly turned on.

I also have the screen set up with four views - see picture 1. (after looking at pictures please use back button to return here)

So here goes nothing.......
