We are a small (5'6"),

Hi my name is Alan and
I was born in 1964
and, contrary to popular belief, am still alive.
It was a time when men were men,
music still had some redeeming qualities,
computers were read about
and programming was something the BBC did.
I been married now for 14 years (you dont even get that for murder)
to a very understanding wife who doesnt understand me.
The wife hates computers nearly as much as they hate her.
We have two lovely children most of the time
and two screaming demons the rest of the time.
My hobbies are martial arts, computers,
sleeping and trying to workout why the garden is dying.
There are no longer enough hours in the day for all of them.
I have over the last few weeks had a lot of fun
with Blitz Basic and am hoping to give something back.
The aim of this site is really an ego boost,
it could do with one.
I drive a Skoda.
and slightly more seriously
I hope you find something of use in

progressing through ZX81,spectrum,atari st,amiga (amos and bb) and now pcs.
One of my first jobs was programming a drilling rig - using punched paper tape !
By-eck them were the days - a night out, fishnchip and still have change
from.....
To date my favourite language has been amos but I think I have now seen the light.
.
While trying to teach my wife to program the conversation went...
Me - "You have to break everything down into simple steps,
try to keep it simple and think simple.
Wife - Youre good at that !
I like to think it was a compliment........
Have fun, be good
and keep knocking the rocks together
