A) Our Mission is to: ---------------------- 1) Assist in the education and development of the most disadvantaged in Africa. 2) Help in the improvement of the quality of education and training systems. 3) Reduce the dependency syndrome created by indiscriminate hand-outs. 4) Use African made goods and services whenever and wherever possible, and in so doing provide for much needed local employment. 5) Limit charity costs to no more than 10% of donated funds. 6) Transfer as much administrative work as possible to African countries where Projects are undertaken. B) Our Aims --------------- To assist in or provide for: 1) The education of Africans wherever needed. 2) The training of teachers. 3) The supply of school equipment where needed. 4) Funds and grants for educational institutions. 5) The financial sponsorship of individual African children through school. 6) Construction and development of educational institutions. 7) Supply electricity, water and waste disposal for schools. 8) The awareness of the importance of protecting and conserving the environment. To encourage: 1) acceptance and tolerance of different cultures. 2) a better awareness of the relationship between education, the world of employment, free enterprise and the environment. "The objects of the trust shall be to advance the education of all Africans in any way deemed charitable in law and in particular but not exclusively to provide or assist in the provision of suitable and appropriate facilities and equipment which it is considered charitable in law to provide" D) Equipment / Help -------------------------- The following is needed: 1) equipment to help in the building of new schools and facilities. 2) general education equipment. All types of education equipment is always needed, but ...... We do not have the finances to cover shipping costs to Africa, therefore, we would appreciate any help in this respect. E) Funding Needs ---------------------- 1) Any help with funding or fundraising would always be gratefully accepted. 2) All expenditure so far has been out of the Founder Trustees' own savings. 3) Donations are always welcome, no matter what amount. 4) Foreign coins and notes will always be of help to us. 5) We do not receive any assistance from the UK Government, National Lottery or Comic Relief (UK Red Nose Day). 6) No more than 10% of donated money will be used for UK expenses. F) Our Trustee/Founder in Africa ----------------------------------------- Our Trustee in Africa will: 1) Keep us informed of essential requirements. 2) Oversee and control the distribution of funds and equipment. 3) Ensure that the Charity's policies and projects are carried out. G) The Charity needs Help ---------------------------------- 1) In distributing our Schools Information Documen (SID) to schools in Africa. This document provides us with details of what schools need. 2) Our 8 year old computer finally gave up and needed replacing, the cost of which came out of the Trustees' own pockets. 3) The same happened with our old printer. 4) Is there any kind person or benevolent company out there that is willing to donate new equipment for our own use? It really is needed! 5) Our Trustee in Africa needs a computer and facilities to connect to the Internet. This will help us keep in contact and exchange information.
