As hard as I may try, I cannot be sure that all the information one this page is current. Sites move and mailing lists go in and out of existance. I rely on you, the trusty netizen, to email chrisdub@ukonline.co.uk with details of dead links and missing information. Thank you.

  • FTM International

Since December 1986, FTM has been holding get-togethers every three months, and publishing a quarterly newsletter for members.

We have an international (and confidential) mailing list of 600 persons, over 150 of whom live within commuting distance of our San Francisco meetings.

Membership has been steadily growing, and in 1992 we expanded our format to encompass more frequent meetings. In 1994 we changed our name to add "International" to reflect the 14 countries to which our newsletter is distributed.

 MAILING LISTS

I certainly haven't joined all these lists. Any information is verbatim that provided by the list-wrangler, to whom any further enquiries should be directed.

  • Genderfcked Mailing List

Sphere is a listserv for people who bend even the boundaries of transgenderism. It's a bunch of people who identify as both genders, or no gender, or third-gendered... I'm trying to think if I forgot any possibilities :-) We'll share what it's like to be queerer than queer, discuss how we fit into trans and other communities, fight the good activist fight, and tell cool stories about our genderfucked experiences.

We take our name from the idea that gender isn't a dichotomy (where there's either male or female) or a continuum (where there's a rainbow of stuff in between, all in a line and all related to male or female) but a sphere, where male and female are just two of an infinite number of possible points and you can be anywhere on, inside, or outside, the gendered world.

To sign up, email majordomo@queernet.org and say "Subscribe sphere (your email address)." There are no requirements for membership.

  • Trans people of colour

    Hello everyone,

As a transgendered Arab American, I've spent a lot of time over the last few years looking for my peers and allies--for trans Arabs and other trans people of color. I've been frustrated by a lack of resources targeted at trans people of color and places where I might meet trans people of my ethnic background, as well as from other minority groups. And I have spoken to other trans people of color facing similar isolation. In order to help I have created a new email list for transgendered people of color and allies. I hope that it will be a safe place for us to talk about the issues that we face, share support and information, and build communities.

This is an experiment: I do not know of another mailing list like this. Its success will depend on good will and effort from its participants. Please only join if you are willing to deal with personal and potentially difficult subjects in a sensitive way, and respect the confidentiality of other list members. Please note that all posts are archived and available to list members, and that I cannot guarantee confidentiality: you might want to set up an anonymous email account with yahoo, hotmail, or another service in order to post to the list. To subscribe, send an empty email message to tgpoc-subscribe@makelist.com from the email address that you will use to send and receive email, or visit http://www.erols.com/nadyalec/subscribe.html and fill out the form there. For the moment there is not a digest version available, however I can make special arrangements for you to read the archived version if you cannot subscribe in any other way. Please email me at nadyalec@erols.com if you have any questions or problems.
