For many FTMs, the struggle to come to terms with our trans-identity is hard enough, even when we're the ones (effectively) in the driving seat. For friends and lovers it can often be a bolt out of the blue (no matter how obvious it may have seemed to the FTM himself).

This is an artice that deals with issued faced by lesbians when their partners tell them they're thinking of transitioning. Well written and honestly exploring all sides of the discussion, it's a must read, not only for SO's but for any FTM who has a partner or friends in the lesbian community.

Excellent FAQ, a clear and comprehensive presentation of a wealth of
relevant information for SOFFAs.
- American Boyz SOFFA page
This site mantains a literally massive collection of information and site listings for SOFFAs (Signifigant Others, Friends And Allies) of FTMs. Unfortunately, most of the off-line resource listings are American, but then, this is the internet!!!!
- PFLAG (Parents Friends and Families of Lesbians and Gays
Within the lesbian/gay stuff, PFLAG hosts a variety of transgender-related information under all sorts of headings. You'll have to be patient to find what you want, but at this well-researched and presented site, it's what you find is probably worth a little effort.

A site by an SO of an FTM. Very good, with an open and honest online diary and relevant links.
Support Groups
- Trans Family Support Group
The web site of a support group for transgendered individuals and their friends and family based in Pittsburgh, US. The site includes links to other trans resources on the web.
- UK (London-based) support group
This group meets on an approximate monthly basis as far as I know. The link above is to this site's UK resources page, where you can find the contact info for this group.
