History & Modifications
All ships:
All ships were refitted with the Tartar missiles being removed and Standard SM1 SAM and Harpoon SSM
missiles being added, sharing the Mk13 launcher. In the late 1980s all the clas had their Ikara
launchers removed and plated over.
Brisbane:
Brisbane was originally DDG27. She was refitted in America in 1979 and is expected to be
decommissioned by the end of 2001.
Hobart:
Hobart was originally DDG26. She was refitted in America in 1978. She was decommissioned on 12th May
2000.
Perth:
Perth was originally DDG25. She was refitted in America in 1974. She was decommissioned in October 1999.
