History & Modifications
All boats:
All the class were given refits in which the Type 186 was removed and a Type 2007 passive flank array
was added. The boats were also given the capability to fire SubHarpoon SLCM and Mk48 ADCAP torpedoes.
Onslow:
Onslow was decommissioned in 1999 and will be preserved as a museum at Sydney.
Orion:
Orion was decommissioned in 1996 and has been scrapped.
Otama:
Otama was decommissioned in 1999.
Otway:
Otway was decommissioned on 17th February 1994. The casing and fin have been preserved at Holbrook, New
South Wales.
Ovens:
Ovens was decommissioned on 1st December 1995 and has been preserved as a museum at Fremantle.
Oxley:
Oxley was decommissioned on 13th February 1992 and has been scrapped.
