Fearless:
Fearless was refitted in the 1980s. The SeaCat launchers were removed and replaced by two Vulcan
Phalanx CIWS and two BMARC GAM-B01 20mm guns in single mountings. She was given another refit in 2000,
but this was more to repair defects rather than adding new hardware.
She is expected to decommission in October 2002, but will soon be placed in extended readiness
commission with a caretaker crew.
Intrepid:
Intrepid was assigned to the Standby Squadron in 1991 with a caretaker crew. It was planned to
decommission her in July 1999, but delays in the followon Albions mean that she is expected to last
until 2001.
