Revenge was listed for sale in 1913, but reactivated in 1914, renamed Redoubtable to release the name. She had anti torpedo bulges fitted that could be flooded to heel the ship and increase the range of the guns, which were sleeved down to 12". She was used for shore bombardment with the Dover Patrol.
