Bigbury Bay:
Bigbury Bay was sold in 1959 to the Portugese Navy as Pacheo Pereira. She was sold for scrapping
on 6th July 1970.
Burghead Bay:
Burghead Bay was sold in 1959 to the Portugese Navy as Alvares Cabral.She was sold for scrapping on
23rd June 1971.
Cardigan Bay:
Cardigan bay was sold to West Of Scotland Shipbreaking, Troon, and arrived for scrapping on 5th March
1962.
Carnarvon Bay:
Carnarvon Bay arrived for scrapping on 28th August 1959 at La Spezia, Italy.
Cawsand Bay:
Cawsand Bay arrived for scrapping on 5th September 1959 at Genoa, Italy
Dundrum Bay / Alert:
Alert was used as an official yacht on the China station. She was sold to T.W. Ward, Inverkeithing, and
arrived for scrapping on 31st October 1971.
Enards Bay:
Enards Bay was sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Faslane, and arrived for scrapping on 15th November
1957.
Gerrans Bay / Surprise:
Surprise was used as an official yacht in the Meditteranean. In 1953, she was converted into a
temporary Royal yacht for the Fleet Coronation Review, which entailed the removal forward gun mounting
and replacing it with a platform for Her Majesty to review the fleet from. Afterwards, the ship
reverted to the original configuration.
She was sold to P. & W. McLellan, Bo'ness, and arrived for scrapping on 29th June 1965.
Largo Bay:
Largo Bay was sold to T.W. Ward, Inverkeithing, and arrived for scrapping on 11th July 1958.
Morecambe Bay:
Morecambe Bay was sold to the Portugese Navy in 1961 as Dom Francesco de Almeida.
Mounts Bay:
Mounts Bay was sold to the Portugese Navy in 1961 as Vascso da Gama.
Padstow Bay:
Padstow Bay arrived for scrapping on 11th August 1959 at La Spezia, Italy.
Porlock Bay:
Porlock Bay was sold to the Finnish Navy in 1962 as Matti Kurki. She was scrapped in 1975.
St. Austell Bay:
St. Austell Bay was sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Charlestown, and arrived for scrapping on 13th
February 1956.
St. Brides Bay:
St. Brides Bay sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Charlestown, and arrived for scrapping on 3rd
September 1962.
Start Bay:
Start Bay was sold to J. Cashmore, Newport, and arrived for scrapping in July 1958.
Tremadoc Bay:
Tremadoc Bay arrived for scrapping on 18th September 1959 at Genoa, Italy.
Veryan Bay:
Veryan Bay was sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Charlestown, and arrived for scrapping on 1st July 1959.
Whitesand Bay:
Whitesand Bay was sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Charlestown, and arrived for scrapping on 13th
February 1956.
Widemouth Bay:
Widemouth Bay was sold to Hughes Bolckow, Blyth, and arrived for scrapping on 23rd November 1957.
Wigtown Bay:
Wigtown Bay was sold to Shipbreaking Industries, Charlestown, and arrived for scrapping in April 1959.
