Black Prince was refitted between 1867 and 1868. The gun fit was changed to 4 x 8" MLR, 24 x 7" MLR and 4 x 20pdr BLR. In 1899 she became a training ship. She was renamed Emerald in 1903 and Impregnable III in 1910.
