Warrior was refitted between 1867 and 1868. The gun fit was changed to 4 x 8" MLR, 28 x 7" MLR and 4 x 20pdr BLR. In 1902 she was converted into a depot ship and renamed Vernon III in 1904.

In 1923 she was hulked as an oil pipeline dock at Pembroke Dock, and renamed C77 in 1945.

In September 1979, work began on restoring Warrior to her former glory, and she arrived at Portsmouth on 16th June 1987 as part of the Historic Ships exhibition, where she remains today.
