History & Modifications
All ships:
The TRUMP upgrade involved the 5" gun being replaced by a 3" OTO Melara and a Vulcan Phalanx CIWS
being fitted. A Martin Mk41 VLS was added with 29 x Standard SM2 SAM in place of the Sea Sparrow VLS,
and the Limbo was removed. The three funnels were combined into a single structure.
The SPS501 radar was replaced by a HSA LW08 air search set, and a HSA DA08 surface search set was added.
The SQS501 sonar set was replaced by a SQS510. The FT12H cruise turbines were replaced by Allison 520KF
cruise turbines also of 7500shp.
Algonquin:
Algonquin received the TRUMP upgrade in 1991. She is in service with the Canadian Navy.
Athabaskan:
Athabaskan received the TRUMP upgrade in 1994. She is in service with the Canadian Navy.
Huron:
Huron received the TRUMP upgrade in 1994. She is in service with the Canadian Navy.
Iroquois:
Iroquois received the TRUMP upgrade in 1992. She is in service with the Canadian Navy.
