Deutschland was refitted at the Imperial Dockyard, Wilhelmshaven, between 1894 and 1897. In May 1904 she was assigned as a harbour ship. On 22nd November 1904 she was renamed Jupiter. She was stricked from the Navy List on 21st May 1906, and used as a target ship until being sold in 1908.
