U9:
On 22nd September 1914, U9 scored the first major success for a submarine. Commanded by Otto Weddigen,
she sank the three British cruisers Cressy, Hogue and Aboukir with the loss of more than 1000 lives.
She herself was surrendered to Allied forces after WWI and scrapped.
U10:
U10 was lost in the North Sea in May 1916.
U11:
U11 was mined off Zeebrugge on 18th December 1914 and lost with all hands.
U12:
U12 torpedoed the gunboat Niger at Deal on 11th November 1914, when she was commanded by Walther
Forstmann. She was rammed and sunk by the destroyer Ariel on 10th March 1915 off Aberdeen.
