After suffering heavy casualties at the battle of Tsushima, she surrendered to the Japanese on 15th May 1905. After repairs, she was accepted into Japanese navy service as the Iki, having been turned into an artillery training ship. On 1st May 1915, she was reclassified as a artillery target ship.
