Navarin spent most of her career on long distance cruises to the Pacific, China, Port Arthur and the Mediterranean. At Tsushima, battle damaged caused her to loose speed and be left behind the fleet. She was attacked by Japanese destroyers and hit by 3 torpedoes. At 3AM on the morning of the 5th May she sank, only 3 of her crew surviving.
