History



Notes:
All the class were refitted with the addition of four AK-630 CIWS with 3000 rounds per ship.

Admiral Fokin:
Admiral Fokin was laid down as Steregushchiy, but renamed Vladivostock on 31st October 1962. She was renamed Fokin on 11th May 1964. She was stricken on 30th December 1993 and was placed in reserve in 1996 where she remains.

Admiral Golovko:
Admiral Golovko was laid down as the Doblestnyi, but renamed on 31st October 1962. She was refitted between June 1982 and March 1989 at Sevastopol. Although still commissioned, most of her systems are apparantly non-operational and she will probably be scrapped as soon as funds allow.

Grozny:
Grozny was refitted between 1976 and 1984 at Sevmorazvod, Sevastopol. She was stricken on 24th June 1991 and scrapped at Liepaya in 1993.

Varyag:
Varyag was laid down as the Soobrazitelny, but was renamed on 31st October 1962. She has been in reserve since decommissioning on 14th Octber 1990 and may soon be scrapped as soon as funds allow.
