General Admiral Class



General Admiral / Narova / 25 Oktiabrya
Gerzog Edinburgski / Onega
The first armoured cruisers. They were well armed and armoured, and were copper sheathed with a full sailing rig. Both were converted to minelayers.


Vladimir Monomakh Class



Vladimir Monomakh Vladimir Monomakh was completed with a full sailing rig which was later removed.


Dmitri Donskoi Class



Dmitri Donskoi Although well armed, the Donskoi was poorly protected and had little subdivision.


Admiral Nakhimov Class



Admiral Nakhimov The Nakhimov was based on the British Imperieuse design, which the Russians had obtained plans of.


Pamiat Azova Class



Pamiat Azova / Dvinia Pamiat Azova was more lightly armoured than previous ships, but no faster or better armed. She was converted to a training ship and sunk during the Civil war.


Ryurik Class



Ryurik Ryurik was intended for commerce raiding, and caused much concern with her speed and armament. However, protection and subdivision was poor. The building of the Ryurik caused the British navy to built the Powerfuls.


Rossiya Class



Rossiya Rossiya was based on the Ryurik design, but with more powerful engines and less armour. She was unusual for the time in having one set of engines for cruising, and another for high speed.


Gromoboy Class



Gromoboy Gromoboy was based on the Rossiya, but with more conventional machinery.


Bayan I Class



Bayan Bayan was designed and built in France. Armour and speed was improved over previous classes.


Bayan II Class

Although the previous Bayan was sunk, the Russian navy were pleased with the design, and soon constructed 3 more.


Ryurik Class



Ryurik Ryurik was one of the best cruisers in existance. She was well armed and protected, although slower than most foreign cruisers.
