Minoga Class


Minoga Minoga was the first submarine designed by Bubnov. It was intended as the prototype for submarines that could be built quickly. However, poor performance and handling prevented its success.

Krab Class


Krab Krab was the first minelaying submarine. Although an innovative idea, the minelaying equipment proved unreliable.

Morzh Class

The Morzh class were designed by Ivan Bubnov, and were similar to the later Bars class.

Kashalot Class

The Kashalots were unusual for their time in being double hulled, and were constructed along Holland principles.

The Dekabrists were based on Italian designs. Their construction was delayed due to lack of materials.

Pravda Class

The Pravdas were intended to support the surface fleet in combined operations. Their short range, limited diving depth, slow speed and long battery recharge times meant that they were not successful, and spent WW2 used mostly as transports.
