History & Modifications

Wolverine:
Work on conversion started at Buffalo, New York in early 1942. The superstructure was removed and a wooden flightdeck with overhanging sides and stern was added. A small island structure was added to simulate real conditions and add space for 4 funnels.

Wolverine carried no aircraft and spent her career in the Great Lakes for pilots from local airfields to use for 'touch and gos'.
