(30/12/2000)
The
Dolphins, fresh from a comeback in the regular season finale to win the AFC
East title, did it again! Trailing 14 - zip at halftime and still down by ten
in the 4th Quarter, they forced the game into overtime thanks to a touchdown
pass by Jay Fiedler to Jed Weaver with just 34 seconds remaining! Then in
overtime, after the Colts had blown a field goal, Lamar Smith ran 17 yards
for a touchdown and an emphatic win. He was the outstanding player, rushing
for 209 yards and breaking Larry Csonka's post season record. Fiedler made up
for a well dodgy first half which saw 3 interceptions and helped inspire the
second-half renaissance. Bring on the Comeback Kings.....make that Cardiac Kings! |

Miami's season finally ended as they were taken apart by a rampant Raiders
team. |
||||||||||||||
|
Even though the season ended with many expletives, when the dust had settled
it was time to look back on a largely successful campaign. The Dolphins splashed on most pundits who tipped them to finish with a losing
record and hopefully they can build on this and reach the next |

Remember, the despair of losing heightens the pleasure of winning. |
