| Having the suspension arms removed from thechassis made this operation a lot easier. | ![]() |
| I made up a tool to fit in the slot in the bottom plug. After lifting the flange where it is bent over to lock it, it unscrewed fairly easily. | |
| The top plug has to be knocked out using a 7mm drift and a large hammer. It took a heavy blow to move it. | ![]() |
| As I had access to an hydraulic press pushing
out the king pins was fairly easy. Removing the king pins went so well I forgot to take
any photos. It took 4 tons to push out the kinpins. I made a tool to push out the bushes, top one first. Then the bottom one. |

| Then I inserted the new ones. Bottom one first from the inside because the bush wouldn't pass the threads for the bottom plug. | ![]() |
| Then the top bush. | ![]() |
| The replacement kit looks like this. | ![]() |
| I put in a new bottom plug (screw in) and a new top plug (belt with a hammer). When I allpied the grease gun gease can out around the top plug. | See 20th October 2001 for the solution. |
