POR15

I decided to use POR15 for the running gear as it it has very good write-ups for keeping rust at bay for a long time.

I purchased Solvent, Black POR15 paint, Metal-Ready and Marine clean from Frost Auto Restoration Techniques Ltd.

First I wire brush the component then wash in parafin if greasy. Marine clean is supposed to get rid of any oil on the surface.
Next spray with Metal-Ready.
These components were soaked in Metal-Ready for 24 hours.

The rust, after wire brushing, seemed to have disappeared. after.jpg (17821 bytes)
Then I paint with POR15. Only time will tell if it works. drum.jpg (25205 bytes)
