| The front edge of the offside rear wheel arch
(also the rear edge of the spare wheel housing) is a good candidate. |

| I cut away the rusty metal at the same time
discovering the method of construction. There is a reinforcing z-shaped strip behind it. |

| I made up a new front part and a matching
reinforcing part. I made them different sizes so that the front join would have the
reinfircing strip behind. This would make the welding easier. |

| My first go at MIG welding was a bit rough but
with some filler it will look alright. |
