| The cross beam, which is at the rear of the passenger compartment floor, was rusty. |  |
| As I had a spot welder I decided to take out the full width of the underside panel and spot-weld in a new one. |  |
| As some of the front surface had also rusted I cut that away and made an angled sheet to weld on top. |  |
| I managed to spot-weld the front sheet on even though there is a reinforcing plate behind it. It was then easy to spot-weld the bottom plate onto the flanges. |  |
