| The area around the bonnet hinge was very
rusted. I hacksawed through the ends. |

| The spot welds at the top are inside. Impossible
to re-assemble so I also removed the flanged strip that goes behind it. I cut away the
front flange to get a drill to the spotwelds behind. |

| I wanted to preserve the flange inside the van
and sacrifice the strip in between which I could remake. |

| This would allow me to reassemble it using a
spot-welder. |

| On the left you can see the new strip which will
be spot-welded to the new panel first. On the right are two strips made up to bridge the
areas that have rusted away on the top of the scuttle. |
