Painted and fitted vent shutter

Click on thumbnail to see big photo.

I derusted, filled, primered and painted the vent shutter....
Then refited the rubber hinge/seal.

This is bolted to the body with an aluminium trim strip.

Inside the trim strip is a steel strip with 12 holes that have captive T-headed screws.

These screws are 3mm dia.

The nuts are 5.5 mm a/f

Some were rusty or broken so I made some more by grinding down the heads of standard screws until they would slide inside the trim.
Although the vent shutter was dead flat there was a gap at one end when fitted. The replacement panel must be slightly out of true!
The fly grill mesh has to be fitted at the same time.
