Westland Lysander
Built : Started 12 November 2001 Span : 81 in Engine : OS70 Surpass Dennis Bryant plan "There are aeroplanes and there is the Lysander..." This has always been high on my wish list so here is my version. Took around 3 years to complete. The panel lines and paint work were done by my son - all airbrushed Spectrum paint - lovely job. The Western desert colour scheme is from information supplied by the RAF Museum at Hendon - thank you. Roundels and markings by Precision Markings Stalled on approach to land during maiden flight - not happy about the wing halves having equal angles of attack and believe this was the major factor in its failure to fly well- see photos. Took one year to carefully rebuild - second maiden flight exact repeat of the first one. Model totally written off. Giving up - for now. |
