Eric was born in Hellifield in 1901. He was my grandfather and this picture shows him on the left when he was working at Stockton for the L.N.E.R. Doris married Eric in 1926 at Thornaby. She played the violin in a local orchestra and had numerous other jobs including chauffeuse. Her parents were John Herbert Briggs and Annie Blakey who came from Sowerby and Halifax.
