As far as I have researched, my mother's side of the family started off in 1811 with the birth of James Kerridge. I can't find out where exactly he was born but he married and brought up his family in Wymondham, Norfolk. When times were tough in the late 1860's, most of his children moved north to Eston, near Middlesbrough on Teesside, to work in the iron-stone mines.
