Consecutive

This is the standard form of interpretation for business meetings.  The interpreter listens to the speaker and, when he/she has finished, translates into the target language.  

Simultaneous

Simultaneous interpretation is normally used only for conferences. It is an extremely stressful occupation and normally requires a minimum of two interpreters working in short alternate shifts.
