TREASURES OF THE MUMMY QUEEN
(Product Code 104)

The
journey was long and hard, and you are tired, your mood grim. Alone you have
travelled for two weeks, across barren wilderness, over harsh mountains and
through tunnels dank and caverns deep. Your destination, Deshroth-Abtu,
known in tales of folklore as the Crypt of the Mummy Queen. This desolate tomb,
that many believe exists only in legend, stands before you, miserable and
crumbling, surrounded by jungle. The tomb is a stone mausoleum building, fifty
feet square and twenty feet high. The walls are covered in vines and creeping
plants, which almost completely hide the carvings on the wall beneath. You
suspect that the tomb complex lies beneath the ground.
It
is believed by many that the chambers beneath the tomb contain mighty treasures
of an ancient jungle queen. Although the crypt is said to be haunted by guardian
monsters and the tunnels containing deadly traps, the wealth that lies
dust-covered within the vaults is immense. Yet you must tread warily, for legend
states that the mummified Queen will steal the souls of those who dare to defile
her tomb. Against her magic there is apparently no defence. In Life, Queen Akebu
was a tyrant, and in Death her cruelty lives-on, her dark powers even stronger,
her evil more malevolent.
There
are no signs of life and you see only one entrance, a square opening in the
centre of the south wall. Above the entrance a leering skull has been carved
into the stone, and surrounding this, runes and symbols of a bygone age. Peering
through the opening you see a dim corridor stretching into the darkness of the
mausoleum.
