"At the dead of night they came. 

Wolves from Castle Kagayev, bearing the Count’s loyal servants, descended upon your village. Black Goblins wielding spears, knives and nets, captured many of your people and took them back to the huge, crumbling castle, where the Vampyre Count Kagayev dwells, devouring the living. You have been captured, along with many of your fellow villagers, and now you are in a cold chamber deep in the Vampyre’s Crypt, where you will remain until killed, your blood drained to feed his evil hunger.

 You fear that many of the captured villagers have already been slain, or taken to other parts of the sprawling castle. You decide your main objective is to escape. You have recently become skilled in weapon craft and you were almost ready to leave your village to seek adventure and fortune. However, unless you can escape from the Vampyre’s Crypt before the foul creature kills you, you will never see true adventure.

 The Vampyre is strong and powerful, so forget all ideas of fighting him or trying to slay him if you find him resting. If he sees you wandering his crypt, he will kill you. Maybe you will be able to fight some of the creatures that you will encounter as you try to escape, but if possible it would be better if you could escape without a fight, for your skill is still in its infancy.
