Newly Diagnosed Horses

Your horse has been diagnosed with "Equine Cushing's Syndrome" or "Laminitis", this may be the first time you have had horses with either or both of these conditions, or you may have been unfortunate to have experienced it before - nevertheless, the prospect is frightening, worrying and it leaves you feeling very alone.

These are VERY common reactions, they are perfectly natural. Both conditions are very isolating & can leave you feeling out of your depth & out of control. The speed at which Laminitis in particular can develop frightens and shocks anyone whose horse suffers from it. • Try NOT to panic.
• Listen carefully to the diagnosis your horse has received & ask any questions
• Never be afraid to contact your Vet with any questions you have - he/she is there to help you
• Do not lose hope - modern veterinary advances in both fields have helped many advanced cases
