Aims of the Project

The aim of this project is to use internet based chemical databases and search engines to study a particular compound, in this case rutile.  This information is then to be presented as a collection of HTML files, in a more concise and accessible form.

Introduction

The project begins by looking at the history and background of rutile, from when it was discovered, where it is found and what it is made of.  It then moves on to look at rutiles physical, chemical and metaphorical properties, before looking in depth at its crystal structure.  Finally the project focuses on the uses of rutile in the modern world.
